HALLYU ZOMBIE DRAMA REVIEW: Emergency Couple Episodes 20-21 (3/4)

Emergency Couple has officially ended. What will I watch now? The ending was nice, but the story still left me scratching my head. My name is Karen and it has been a pleasure for me to write Emergency Couple Hallyu Zombie reviews with my partners, Zombie Mamma and Tanya. Over the course of eleven weeks, we have experienced the ups and downs of our Emergency Couple couples so I would like to give my final thoughts on each couple.

Emergency Couple #1: Oh Chang Min (Choi Jin Hyuk) and Oh Jin Hee (Song Ji Hyo)

I almost got what I expected with this couple. What I didn't expect was the overabundance of kisses in the last two episodes and Jin Hee's striptease in front of Chang Min. I loved that this couple decided to date each other again, but take it slowly. Realistically, this is the right thing to do, but I was really hoping to see another wedding scene and to see actor Yoon Joo Sang cameo as the officiant once again.

I was a bit confused about Oh Chang Min's mother, Yoon Sung Sook's (Park Joon Geum) words to Jin Hee. It seems as though she is telling Jin Hee to live her own life and find another guy and if Jin Hee and Chang Min decide to marry one day, Sung Sook does not want to be in their lives. However, Jin Hee and everybody else interpreted those words to mean that Sang Sook will not interfere with Chang Min and Jin Hee's relationship and the two lovebirds can do whatever they want. Either way, I think Sung Sook will eventually accept the couple into her life.

Emergency Couple #2: Kim Kwang Soo (Park Doo Shik) and Oh Jin Ae (Jun Soo Jin)

All along, Kwang Soo and Jin Ae's relationship was going really well, but suddenly they had a fight and had to go to Chang Min and Jin Hee for relationship advice. That sounded really fishy to me because out of all the people Kwang Soo knew, he chose to open up his feelings to Chang Min. It seems as though Kwang Soo and Jin Ae purposely looked for ways to keep Chang Min and Jin Hee together throughout the drama. After their meeting, Kwang Soo and Jin Ae made up immediately and spoke of going to a hotel. Fishy. With such a cute baby in their hands, I can't imagine Kwang Soo and Jin Ae ever breaking up.

Emergency Couple #3: Im Yong Kyu (Yoon Jong Hoon) and Han Ah Reum (Clara)

This couple really makes me scratch my head. I guess Yong Kyu is pursuing a songwriting career since Ah Reum asked him to write her a song. Honestly, I'm still weary of Yong Kyu suddenly changing his career. His story doesn't change the overall story line that much and I wonder if it's necessary for him to have a career change of heart. Yong Kyu and Ah Reum's relationship might have started since their musical kiss in the park, but Yong Kyu is going to study abroad just like every other drama character. Ah Reum seems to be okay with it, but I can't guarantee if this couple will last with a long distance relationship.

Emergency Couple #4: Park Sang Hyuk (Im Hyun Sung) and Lee Young Ae (Chun Min Hee)

I really expected happy endings with every couple, but I guess not everybody gets an absolute happy ending. As Zombie Mamma mentioned in her post, we watched Sang Hyuk and Young Ae go from a super lovey-dovey couple to a couple that is on the brink of divorce. I really hope that this couple does not break up over a small misunderstanding as Chang Min and Jin Hee did, but it is realistic that Sang Hyuk and Young Ae do not get an absolute happy ending. They are trying to make things work again and I hope they succeed.

Emergency Couple #5: Gook Chun Soo (Lee Pil Mo) and Shim Ji Hye (Choi Yeo Jin)

I saved this couple for last because they are the most complicated couple. All along, Dr. Gook had been giving me mixed signals as to who he really likes: Jin Hee or Dr. Shim. It's a mystery to me how Dr. Gook can confess his feelings to Jin Hee, but like Dr. Shim at the same time. Dr. Gook is lucky that Dr. Shim has not been taken away by another man throughout the drama. By the end of the drama, it seems as though Dr. Gook is mildly asking Dr. Shim to come back. We can only assume that this couple will start a relationship after the drama ends. I still think it's dangerous because Dr. Shim can always meet another guy in the United States, but hopefully, not another jerk.

It's nice to see that Dr. Gook received a postcard back from his biological father. Dr. Gook doesn't seem to have any intentions to meet his father or work in Africa though. I suppose everything is a new beginning.

Even Dr. Ahn was mildly embarrassed at the hospital when he refused to perform dangerous surgery on a patient whose family was not available in time to sign the consent form so he ended up backing off on ruining Dr. Gook and Dr. Shim's career. There are no evil people in this drama and only dying patients.

Dr. Shim claims that she worked at the Wusu hospital for a year,  but in the drama, she came back to the hospital after the new interns started working at the ER. That would mean that the interns worked at the ER for more than the two months that they were assigned at the beginning of the drama. Or is it possible that the interns had already visited the other departments and ended up back in the ER department after all this time? I was trying to be logical about how an intern spends his or her time at the hospital. I guess all the interns made rounds in other departments already because how else are Chang Min and Jin Hee able to pick their specialty without experiencing the other departments?

Lastly, Dr. Gook's nickname of being the "Devil" was only mentioned near the beginning of the drama and once again at the end of the drama. Honestly, the only time I thought he was harsh was when he tried to fire Jin Hee on her first day on the job. Otherwise, this goofy-looking man is very sweet and thoughtful to others. He would protect his team until the very end. I can only say that the awesome Dr. Gook is misunderstood.

It is with a heavy heart that I say farewell to this drama and its characters. Despite all the critical comments I made about this drama, the drama is still interesting enough for me to come back and watch the next episode. Emergency Couple has an addicting factor that many viewers will enjoy. For those who have not seen this romantic drama yet, now is a good time to start watching Emergency Couple. Coming up next: Please come back soon to read our last collaborative chat with Zombie Mamma, Tanya, and me.

HALLYU ZOMBIE DRAMA REVIEW: Emergency Couple Episodes 20-21 (2/4)

Well, as they say "all good things must come to and end." That's now the case for Emergency Couple as its last two episodes aired, but I am left feeling content overall. The struggle of these characters over the past 11 weeks didn't necessarily make sense at first, but once you look past the minor details you can definitely enjoy the storyline. Let's jump into the last two episodes.

HALLYU ZOMBIE DRAMA REVIEW: Emergency Couple Episodes 20-21 (1/4)

four friendsThough it's hard to believe, this week brings with it the final episodes of Emergency Couple and while this drama and I got off on the wrong foot, I'll be the first to admit that this drama has steadily grown on me, so much so that I'm actually a little sad to be saying my final farewells.

HALLYU ZOMBIE DRAMA REVIEW: Emergency Couple Episodes 18-19 (4/4)

Tanya: I think that we have come to the conclusion that this week’s episodes have been the best of the series so far. And about time because we only have one week left!

Karen: As I mentioned in my review, this week’s episodes had the perfect mix of emergency room drama and love drama. It also didn’t hurt that there weren’t too many negative things going on as well. I’m just waiting for that happy ending next week.

Tanya: I really do hope that they all have happy endings… or at least satisfactory endings because not every ending can be happy. We don’t want anyone left in limbo like dramas love to do. So let’s talk about the risque moments this week. There were quite a few actually from the stethoscope scene and the ER patient with his pants down to Jin Hee wearing Chang Min’s shirt and them ending up naked in bed.

Karen: Wow, is this drama trying to push the envelope? Kids, beware. I definitely raised my eyebrows at the stethoscope scene and I’m surprised that was allowed to air. I forgot about actor Kim Kang Hyun who seems to be playing an extension of his character in Unemployed Romance where he plays a sex-obsessed man. Too bad we didn’t get to see the aftermath of his cameo scene in Emergency Couple. While I am not surprised that Jin Hee is wearing Chang Min’s shirt, I am surprised that they end up in bed together. Yikes!

Tanya: What happened to being the knight in Chang Min armor and sleeping on the couch?! I don’t care how much you’ve been drinking. Or put her on the couch before you go to bed. Something. It’ll be interesting to see where that goes at the start of next week. I still don’t understand how they ended up without clothing. They both had it when they passed out…. so what happen?

Karen: I thought that was how the night would go because Chang Min looked so responsible at the time and he didn’t seem to drink that much alcohol before. I think Jin Hee must have tempted him somehow even though she was almost knocked out in bed.

Tanya: Maybe it was all their talk about babies…. drunk and sober. That would be interesting. Don’t you like how they just gave up on justifying why she was in his shirt to Yong Kyu and Kwang Soo? It was hilarious... Especially Yong Kyu’s creeper stare at Jin Hee.

Karen: Yong Kyu was a bit creepy, but maybe he had brotherly instincts. Anyway, it’s not like he didn’t know what was going on. Kwang Soo wasn’t bothered by it at all.

Tanya: He’s not bothered by anything though! After the momentary shock, we got this whatever look and he drank his beer. It was perfect. I want to say I’m proud that Yong Kyu decided to stop being a wimp and made up his mind finally.

Karen: I really don’t buy Yong Kyu’s career change. All I have seen so far are scenes of him putting on headphones and listening to music. He doesn’t play an instrument and he doesn’t seem to sing. He probably means that he wants to get into the management aspect of the business.

Tanya: That we’ve seen anyway. He could be interesting in songwriting or producing. There’s really no way for us to know, but the fact that he has actually made a decision is a step in the right direction. What do you think is going to happen between him and Ah Reum?

Karen: I might be a bit hard for them to meet up regularly, but as long as Ah Reum still enjoys going to clubs on her spare time, I don’t think it would be too hard. Of course, that would give them less time to do normal things like eating out and watching a movie.

Tanya: One of the biggest changes we’ve seen this week was in Chang Min’s mother, Sung Sook. I wasn’t originally buying her change of personality after her husband passing away, but the scene where she wishes Chang Min happiness solidified to me that she really is changing her outlook.

Karen: I’m glad to see Sung Sook mature into an understanding mom now. The fact that she said that she knew everything wouldn’t go her way anyway tells me that she was going to eventually cave in to Chang Min’s wishes. I’m sad for her loss, but I hope she moves on soon and adds Jin Hee back into the family.

Tanya: That’s very, very true. Jin Hee’s mother has also mellowed out a bit but I don’t think it’s nearly as much as Sung Sook. Hopefully she hops on-board this family train and doesn’t cause too many problems. Dr. Shim, man…. That’s all I got. It was difficult? Interesting? I don’t know.

Karen: I really wished that Dr. Shim lashed out at Dr. Gook in real life. How interesting would that be? She has never gotten mad at him as far as we could see and I think Dr. Gook needs a huge wake-up call. Drinking his sorrows away instead of chasing the girl of his dreams is cowardly especially after Chang Min gave Dr. Gook that chance.

Tanya: He did! And I didn’t understand why he didn’t accept the fact that Chang Min was willing to step back. I know that he recognized Jin Hee still has feelings, or at least concern, for Chang Min, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t have a chance. He blew it.

Karen: Dr. Gook and Jin Hee seemed boring together. I expected more from them when Jin Hee visited Dr. Gook’s pension house, but I found their conversation a bit dry. On the other hand, Dr. Shim and Dr. Gook’s conversations are always engaging to me.

Tanya: They are definitely a better fit but they have to actually realize that and act upon it. I really hope Dr. Shim leaves and Dr. Gook runs after her.

Karen: The way I see it, Dr. Shim is preparing to go back to the United States and Dr. Gook will be left hanging dry. I just can’t see Dr. Gook getting in Dr. Shim’s way.

Tanya: We’ll have to see… but the guy made progress this week with the postcard to his father, so there is always hope? I’m trying to be optimistic here.

Karen: I think Dr. Gook will go to Africa instead to reconcile with his father first. After a nice long vacation (or will he be volunteering there?), Dr. Gook will then fly to the United States to meet Dr. Shim and her cute daughter.

Tanya: That would be good! The last thing that I want to touch on is the proud moment I had when Young Ae stood up for herself. She’s absolutely right with her statement that she shouldn’t have to put babies first just because she’s a woman. There was a lot of anger feelings towards Sang Hyuk at that point. Just because a woman can be a mom doesn’t mean she has to give up herself for it! His wife wants to have a career. Let her build it, then add babies.

Karen: What I don’t understand is that this couple is still so young. They have plenty of time to think about babies. All of a sudden, Sang Hyuk is obsessed about babies, but he knows that it is very hard to become a doctor so it isn’t reasonable for him to ask Young Ae to skip her internship to have a child for him especially when she is not ready to have a child at this point.

Tanya: And thinking about it practically, he’s still an intern himself. He has a crazy schedule, he doesn’t get much sleep already, AND he wants to add a baby to that madness. If he thinks Young Ae will just takes care of everything on her own while he’s going off to work everyday, he’s wrong. Very wrong. Babies don’t discriminate when it comes to crying and waking you up in the middle of the night.

Karen: Sang Hyuk needs to calm down and think about this issue from a long-term perspective. I think they should both finish their internship and then decide what to do. I hope this couple makes up soon so we can have that good ol’ happy ending with them as well.

What can we expect from the finale of Emergency Couple? Will Chang Min and Jin Hee officially get back together and perhaps have another official marriage? Will Dr. Gook remain forever alone? Let us know what you think and let’s hope for a lot of happy endings!

HALLYU ZOMBIE DRAMA REVIEW: Emergency Couple Episodes 18-19 (2/4)

Sweet-o! I'm really going to miss Emergency Couple after it ends. I feel like we have rolled past all the major obstacles in this show to get to the sweet and fun moments. Remember how depressing the first two episodes were? Fear not, the drama only gets better and I even want some of the stuff featured in this drama.

Contrary to our previous predictions where we thought Jin Hee needed to bare her soul to Chang Min before she can start accepting him, Jin Hee surprisingly matures and apologizes to Chang Min instead of letting out her frustration on him after she recalled their marriage events from Chang Min's point of view. Jin Hee confesses that she cared about her emotions too much and Chang Min surprisingly and calmly listens to her this time. Sweet.

Oh Chang Min (Choi Jin Hyuk) does not try to start a relationship with Oh Jin Hee (Song Ji Hyo) because he thinks she's pitying him and his circumstances. Jin Hee counters Chang Min by giving Chang Min fortune cookies that state the definition of pity and she mentions how that is not necessarily a bad thing. Jin Hee should get points for not giving up.

Furthermore, Jin Hee cheats and asks Chang Min to listen to her heartbeat with her stethoscope at their staircase hot spot after she ran several flights of stairs to find him just to prove that her heart is beating for him and not someone else. Chang Min had previously advised her to look for a person who makes her heart thump instead. During those staircase moments, I never noticed the cute 3D cat painting that was on the wall. I rechecked episodes two and four of this drama and the 3D cat painting was always there. I want that painting!

When Chang Min was babysitting baby Gook, Jin Hee just let herself into his apartment. Since when did she have the power to come in without keys? The security guard let her in last time, but I guess Chang Min could have had the door unlocked for her this time.

When Chang Min and Jin Hee were admitting their past health problems during their marriage, Jin Hee mentioned that she lost a huge patch of hair on her forehead. I wondered why Chang Min didn't notice that unless he was too preoccupied with himself. I would have noticed the bald spot if I lived with Jin Hee every day.

Baby Gook has horns! So cute! As usual, I'll miss seeing the cutest baby in the world: baby Gook.

Sadly, Im Yong Kyu (Yoon Jong Hoon) is about to give up becoming a doctor. The news hit me from nowhere. I thought he would eventually brush himself off and get back on his feet, but not pursue music all of a sudden. He obviously doesn't have musical talent, but perhaps he can join the business side of the music industry.

I was interested in the game Yong Kyu was looking at on his phone: Monster Taming RPG aka 몬스터 길들이기. I wish I knew more Korean so I could play since the characters are so cute. This game is available as a Kakao application.

Oddly, I found it odd that Yong Kyu was oblivious to what a fortune cookie is when he popped the whole fortune cookie in his mouth: message and all. It is probably because I am American and the fortune cookie is a part of American culture. I asked my Korean husband if Koreans knew what a fortune cookie is and he said that most Koreans are not exposed to fortune cookies so there is a chance that a fortune cookie is unknown to them. After all, Chinese restaurants in the United States promoted and exposed others to the fortune cookie and the fortune cookie is considered a fun, American snack for restaurant patrons. As an aside, many years ago, my husband tried his first fortune cookie at a Chinese restaurant in the U.S. and luckily did not put the whole fortune cookie in his mouth like Yong Kyu did since my husband saw other people cracking it open first to read the hidden message inside.

The spark between Yong Kyu and Han Ah Reum (Clara) as their eyes lock on each other was electrifying. I enjoyed the scene except I was concentrating more on Ah Reum's sexy shoes, which I adore. It is really impractical to wear high heel shoes in the hospital, but I guess some gals make it work. As expected, Han Ah Reum really matured up to the point where she tells Chang Min that she realizes that there is no room for her in his life so even though Zombie Mamma, Tanya, and I were against it in the beginning, I guess it's only natural that Ah Reum continues her relationship with Yong Kyu on the condition that she can handle his career change.

I'm not surprised that Ah Reum got hit on by a pervert. I am surprised that it didn't happen more often or at least, that we know of in this drama. Ah Reum's not even wearing sexy clothing, but male patients are perverts anyway. I think Ah Reum should maintain her plan of telling others that she's married.

This week's episodes brought about the right balance between patient story lines and love lines. I really wish every episode was written this way, but it's better late than never. When Chief Gook Chun Soo (Lee Pil Mo) announced that he has to break the tumor after using the rapid freeze procedure, all I can think of is, "Cool!" How much cooler can Dr. Gook get? I love it.

It really sucks that Dr. Gook can get in trouble for coming back to do an emergency operation even though he is suspended from the hospital. I have a feeling Dr. Ahn is not going to let Dr. Gook get away with it until Dr. Gook gets fired.

I felt sad that Dr. Gook didn't even enjoy his little suspension break, but instead, longs to get back to work. I cheered for him when he wrote a postcard to his father. When Dr. Gook was fishing, did he really have a jacket with goggles attached to the hood? I want that (for no reason at all other than that it is unique)! Still, to combat loneliness, Dr. Gook really needs to get a girlfriend before I use Chang Min's definition of pity on Dr. Gook.

It was unfortunate that Dr. Gook got extremely, depressingly drunk because he didn't have the courage to pursue Jin Hee. He even let Jin Hee misunderstand him when Dr. Shim casually mentioned that she and Dr. Gook slept together. Dr. Gook is really terrible in the love department.

I finally get a chance to see Shim Ji Hye lose her cool this week even if it was only in her thoughts. By the way, I love her nightgown. I thought Dr. Shim wanted Dr. Gook to come back to her, but her thoughts are way simpler than that. She wants Dr. Gook to be first and foremost-- happy. Sweet-o.

Lastly, how can I forget cameos? Brown Eyed Girls singer Narsha and actor Kim Kang Hyun (who recently acted in the SBS drama, You Who Came From The Stars) play a married patient couple where Kim Kang Hyun's character cheated on Narsha's character. Indeed, the results were a bit hilarious.

Coming up next, Tanya and I have our weekly chat again about this week's episodes so don't forget to come back to read our thoughts. Our dear partner, Zombie Mamma, is once again off this week. We'll all be back for the exciting drama's finale next week!

Hallyu Zombie Drama Review: Emergency Couple Episodes 18-19 (2/3)

Slowly, progress is being made in Emergency Couple as we are winding down to our last two weeks. I am glad that Jin Hee finally got a clue that she hasn't completely moved away from Chang Min even after all of these years. I don't understand why it took her seeing her old wedding ring to suddenly bring these feelings back, but I guess something had to be the trigger. While we are talking about feelings here, I understand Chang Min has come to an a good place, the girl you have been chasing after says she likes you. Stop pushing her away! You may want to think that you are doing the right thing, but you are also making it harder on yourself.

HALLYU ZOMBIE DRAMA REVIEW: Emergency Couple Episodes 16-17 (4/4)

With Zombie Mamma off this week, Tanya and I chat about this week's devastating loss of Chang Min's father and how each leading man is coping with his life at the moment.

Tanya: The big hitter this week was the passing of Chang Min’s father, of course. What do you think about how he and his mother handled all of that? I was actually impressed with his mom for not attacking Jin Hee and showing some sort of respect when she and her mother came to the wake.

Karen: I think Chang Min’s family was put in a tough situation. I’m surprised at how well they tried to cope with the terrible news. One thing that I couldn’t understand was why they kept pushing Oh Jin Hee out of their lives at this point. She offered them support, but they didn’t seem to appreciate that because of their past relationships.

Tanya: I think it’s a hard reminder for both him and his mother that dad had kept such a close relationship with Jin Hee even after the mess of their divorce. It kind of seems like betrayal almost since he wanted nothing to do with them really, but kept her around. I can understand that they appreciate her attempts but don’t want any long-term connection at this point.

Karen: I believe they need all the support they can get at this time. I would have just thanked Jin Hee for all her efforts, but I guess they had to draw the line at treating her like a common guest at this time.

Tanya: We’ll have to agree to disagree at that point I guess! It makes sense to me both ways. They’re mad, hurt, and confused right now. It’s all part of the grieving process. I must applaud Jin Hee though. Her attempts to support them were genuine even if she really doesn’t like her mother-in-law. Rather, I think it’s the mother-in-law that doesn’t like her, but you get what I mean. She was trying her best for her late father-in-law and I do respect that.

Karen: I can’t believe Oh Tae Suk passed away. I’m still in shock. I really thought Chang Min and Jin Hee could save him, but it was really heartbreaking for me to watch. I really want to know why Oh Tae Suk treated Chang Min’s mother, Sung Sook so cold-heartedly except at the end when he suddenly acted caring towards her.

Tanya: You know, I’m honestly surprised he actually died. Dramaland usually does the last minute revival of major characters and it didn’t happen this time. I was a little shocked by it as well. There will now be so many things unanswered about that family dynamic.

Karen: What will happen next? Will anything change once Jin Hee finds her old wedding ring in Chang Min’s apartment?

Tanya: This drama has taken everything I thought was predictable and turned it upside down, so I’m honestly not sure. I want to say that this will be where Jin Hee has her change of heart, but right now is so not a good time for Chang Min. I’m struggling here…. I want to say yes, but realistically it should be a no. When has anything in this story been realistic though?

Karen: I still feel like Jin Hee’s relationship with Dr. Gook is still not over yet. They still have a chance to have a relationship at this point, or at least try to have a relationship. Dr. Gook is just beginning to accept her again except that he didn’t tell the truth about his past to Jin Hee yet.

Tanya: I was wondering about Dr Gook’s questioning of Dr. Shim’s baby daddy (for lack of a better term). He seems overly curious and he’s still hanging onto her. He’s kept the photos and looked disappointed that she wants to move away again. Maybe that will actually develop?

Karen: That was a surprising move from Dr. Shim. Why did she come back to Korea just to leave in a couple months? Or was she really worried about her daughter’s health? I think Dr. Gook might still be hanging on to the past. All these love relationships are up in the air.

Tanya: Speaking of relationships being up in the air, was I detecting some progress between Yong Kyu and Ah Reum this week? It was there, but it was awkward.

Karen: Ugh. Yong Kyu really disappointed me this week. If I were Ah Reum, I wouldn’t take that much interest in him right now. He was a coward for trying to dodge his problems and he only embarrassed himself when he intentionally got beat up only to end up in the ER.

Tanya: He’s definitely not the most impressive one, but I honestly think he’s just trying to figure out how to deal with the stress of what happened. He made some bad choices, but at least he’s realized that they were bad. The scene where Min Ki kept hitting him the head for being stupid was rather funny.

Karen: Oh yeah. I would have done the same! Min Ki really has a soft spot for Yong Kyu. I’m glad that Yong Kyu is back at the hospital, but I’m not sure how long he will remain in the radiology department. Right now, the ER staff is down three people: Dr. Gook, Yong Kyu, and perhaps Chang Min, who is still grieving. With Dr. Shim leaving as well, what will they do?

Tanya: Yes! Dr. Gook was put on probation. I sense tough times ahead for everyone. Hopefully there are still enough unseen residents to fill in that gap. There always seems to be a magical number of people to take care of things even though we don’t see them.

Karen: After all, Wusu hospital is a big hospital, right? I would think they can get some staff members to fill in the gap, but with all the politics going around, maybe it isn’t that easy. Who knew surgeon and professor Ahn from another department could just try to fire someone like Dr. Gook on a whim?

Tanya: There are so many inaccuracies in this drama that I can’t even… which is probably why I just had to throw caring out of the window with this one. After all, someone from another hospital can threaten the right people and magically reverse major decisions. We’ve seen this before. It just doesn’t make sense, but I guess it doesn’t need to? It’s that same logic, yes?

Karen: It’s really getting more ridiculous. When the Chief of ER lectured Dr. Gook and Dr. Shim about putting prioritizing patient Oh Tae Suk, I just felt like giving up on logic. Prioritizing patients based on his or her ties to the hospital is absolutely ridiculous. How come those doctors from other department didn’t get in trouble for not showing up to save patient Oh Tae Suk? Or maybe they did and it wasn’t shown since Oh Tae Suk is probably a VVVIP patient.

Tanya: That whole scene made my head hurt. Honestly… that’s like 99% of what’s wrong with the world right there. You can’t prioritize people and props to Dr. Gook for saying so.

Karen: I hope Dr. Gook comes back soon! This story will go nowhere without him. He’s so boring, reading medical texts in such a beautiful home with such a beautiful landscape around him. I would love to tour that place, wherever it is.

Tanya: Yeah, wrap me up one of those houses please. I’ll take it! Dr. Gook may be one of those off people that finds comfort in study though. Like the kids who do math to calm down. It’s rare, but it happens!

Karen: Nope! Nope! Dr. Gook needs a girlfriend! I want him to find his parents quickly to resolve his inner troubles so he can start dating again. He’s wasting his “suspension” time.

Tanya: He probably does need some healthy distraction. I never thought he would actually seek out his parents though. Maybe just learn how to come to terms with it? It seems a bit late in the game to try to fit that into the story.

Karen: Hm...maybe you are right. When Dr. Gook saw how distraught Chang Min and Jin Hee were when they lost Oh Tae Suk, I’m sure something inside of him stirred. Life can’t be just black and white. Dr. Gook will have to learn to live with what he has and be happy with what he has at this point. At the beginning of the drama, he seemed like a lonely, cold man. Now that Dr. Shim and Jin Hee entered his life, I think he’s been changing little by little.

Tanya: Definitely for the better!

Now we want to know what you think of this week’s episodes and what will happen next. Will Chang Min be able to move on from the passing of his father? What will he tell Jin Hee about the ring? Does Dr. Gook still have feelings for Dr. Shim or will he continue to pursue Jin Hee? Will Yong Kyu grow up and continue his medical career? Let us know in the comments below!
